With the economy the way it is today, people are searching for ways to stretch the buck. No easy task when you are used to having the plastic money, that allowed you to stretch as far or as much as youre little heart desires. Now that most people are tapped out they have to learn a new strategy.

We are reduced to watching reruns on TV instead of going out to the movies. We have found our way to the kitchen again, and found that there is more in there beside the phone and drawer full of take out menus. Its time to break out the cook book. And to our surprise the whole is in the kitchen talking about their day, making plans, laughing, making jokes, and enjoying each others company. Before you know the meal is ready and you all sit down to a nice family dinner.

Not having enough gas in your car to go to the mall or arcade you and your family are forced to stay home and spend time together. Try having a family game night, or going for a walk. Sometimes, something as simple as watching a movie at home together can become a treasured tradition.

Vacation time is coming up and everyone has a perfect vacation destination in mind. This year you are on a budget. This would be a perfect time to try something new. Instead of going to a 5 star resort, try camping. Camping consists of cooking over a fire , toasting marshmallow, singing around the campfire, and meeting new, interesting people. Pick the destination of your choice and check out the campsite near it. This way, you can enjoy the sight seeing and the lodging.

Yes, our lives as we know them have changed. It may be for the better. This will force us to spend more time together as a family. We will probably appreciate the little things more. This will make us realize that we never really smelled the flowers, even when we were pretending to.
